Re: g5 sun classic wont go anywhere
Might try taking the plastic cover off your "accelerator speed switch", the moving contack arm could have been damaged/broken.

Re: g5 sun classic wont go anywhere
I'm guessing now, but is the G5e a resistor coil speed control? IF yes. The throttle speed wiper contacts should be inspected for damage and alignment problems.
Put the rear on jacks, is the solenoid clicking when you try to go? If not, check the solenoid activation circuit. |

Re: g5 sun classic wont go anywhere
yes, but be sure you are not just reading the resistor. You might want to remove it for testing, to be sure.

Re: g5 sun classic wont go anywhere
Solenoid click (good call Scotty) There are 2 small wires to activate the solenoid. Black should have 36 volts negative all the time, if no voltage check the main negative fuse and connections, if voltage drops when the key switch is on and the accelerator pedal pushed, bad ground in the wire harness. The red wire activates the solenoid thru the batteries/fuse/wireharness/key switch and the accelerator stop switch (no resistors or diodes on Yamaha solenoids to worry about). If you test 36 volts negative (all the time) and 36 volts positive (when you push the accelerator pedal) at the solenoid, bad solenoid.
