Default '90 EZ GO Marathon Electric-pedal question

I have a '90 EZGO Marathon- when accelerator pedal is press to the floor (full throttle) in forward, I lose all power. Also, loses power and sluggish when climbing hills. Does this have a high speed switch I could check? Any help is appreciated! Chris

Hi, Chris. I would like to know if you have solved the throttle problem. I have the same year cart and the same problem. I can use the throttle slightly, but any significant pedal causes disconnect. I do have an alltrax speed controller and the LED flashing means I have an "open throttle alarm". Diagnostic suggests checking connections and/or replace throttle assembly. Oh, by the way..reverse works fine irregardless of throttle position. The cart is new to me, so I'm still hashing out the bugs.

Hey guys. Check the potentiometer output. (Balck & white wires on speed controller). Should start at zero ohms at rest and rise smoothly to +/-5k ohm at WOT. The contoller will cut out at around 7k ohms from the pot so that may be your issue.

The Marathon in stock trim would reach about 12mph and they're dogs on inclines even with a good pack.

Good luck.
