Default First time g1 owner, couple questions

I recently picked up a Yamaha g1, 1986 I believe. I would like to add headlights/brake lights, a radio, and possibly a horn or winch. Will the cart be able to power all of these accessories,or will I need to add an extra battery. Do these carts have an alternator or will I have to recharge the battery every once in a while? Thanks in advance.

Yes your G1 has a starter/generator and when generator is working correctly (along with a correctly adjusted voltage regulator) it will charge between 14.5-15.5 volts, just like a automobile. The only problem I see is if you use the lights/stereo ect for long periods of time with out running the car to recharge the battery. I do recommend wireing all add ons straight to the battery, don't ground to the frame. Have fun with your new toy
