Complete ezgo electric rewiring project instructional help needed
I bought an ezgo 91that needs a lot of wiring help. Currently it is hooked up to 2 12v batteries with a push button switch. Motor works good but not alot of power with only two batteries connected. The outside of the cart is in great shape but the inside where the batteries sit is completely rusted out and no f/r switch. The pedals are not hooked up either, hence the push button. I know nothing about wiring but am so willing to learn, i just need some instructions. I would like to have a pic from someone with an ezgo approx the same year of the inside to include wiring and switches so i know what it should look like. I'm including a pic of what mine looks like currently. Please let me know if you think it's a waste of my time. Thanks to all:)

Ok, it does have the charging port and the key hole, two less things but what would i ask for? A f/r relay board? What is that thing (flat piece) in the middle towards the back in the middle of the two battery sets?
Thanks for the diagram!! Btw love the Glock pic! |

This is a picture of a '91 resistor cart. The louvered box between the rear batteries houses the resistors. "91 carts could also have a solid state speed controller (better) instead of resistors. This controller is what you are referring to in the wiring diagram provided by rib. The F/R switch is at the bottom of the picture in the center. If you look closely you can see the lever. It would be by your right knee if you were sitting in the cart. Next to it moving toward the drivers side is the key switch, a push/pull knob for lights (if equipped) and finally the charger receptacle.
This would be a good time to make this a controller cart whether it was originally or not. Be advised we are talking in the neighborhood of $7-800 plus batteries and you still have to do something about the battery rack and a charger also I presume. |

Re: Complete ezgo electric rewiring project instructional help needed
Actually it came with a charger, an extra motor they picked up somewhere and some other various parts that i don't know what they are. It also came with 3 batteries. I figured it would be a little costly but i want to take my time and i figure i can do a little at a time. I have the same cart in gas but it was running. I will post pics of the parts tomorrow and maybe someone can identify them for me. Thanks for all the good info. Btw what is a controller cart?
