Be sure to check this thread out. The length of that rod that goes between the pedal and the control box under the seat has a direct effect on the speed of your cart. Check out post #36, I reposted the original poster's instructions from post #1 and added pictures illustrating what I did. In the end, lengthening this rod ended up causing my parking brake to latch every time I hit the brakes, so I put it back to stock and just removed the governor hookup at the axle. Since you have an '89, you can remove the governor just as easily (if you haven't already).

Your photos also answer my follow question about how #10 should be positioned. Mine looks like it angles 'up' a bit more than yours. I ordered a new one, as mine (same as yours) seems to have enlarged the spring retention hole a bit more than I'm comfortable with.

Still can't get over the 14.00 shipping and handling for what would amount to a bag of screws. I had to add new rubber pedal covers to the order, just to make it worth my while. :)

Thanks again, men.

I would shop around if the S&H seems high...I always find free S&H

Hey Gator,

Unfortunately, I already had 'em ship it. I had to add a few silly parts to justify the shipping in my mind. Oh well. They have a service, that I needed and they had all but one of the parts in stock... so they get my business.

Now I wait for the parts. :)

Parts are here. I've just been distracted with work and about 10K other projects on the cart.

I need to update my thread with everything I've been doing!

So far, I've installed the headlights, the rear seat, the sporting clays basket, and color sanded the body to bring out the shine.

I'm also working on a used 80" top and frame I picked up. Oh! I also pulled the driven clutch to have it sent out. That was a pretty funny story.

Lots going on!

This is how the throttle linkage should look!
