1999 gas club car wiring
So I've searched and searched forums for hours trying to look up the exact wiring diagrams.
When I use the exact diagram it spins my engine backwards, All the wiring seems correct I just don't understand why it does this. When I hook it up wrong it runs my Cart just at 11.5or11.8 volts resulting in a dead battery after awhile. Is it possible i have the wrong generator for my cart? My s/n ag9920 I bought a brand new generator I bought a brand new voltage regulator |

Re: 1999 gas club car wiring help! Please!
If your cart is a '99 the motor should spin clockwise at the clutch.
Here's our wiring diagram section: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...84-2005-a.html |

So it turns out that wiring diagram is the one I used to set up the car .when it is setup correctly the generator spins the engine backwards resulting in no start. Any other ideas

Swapping the wires will only work on an aftermarket bidirectional S/G!
IF by chance... you bought a "counterclockwise" S/G, you cant just swap the wires to get it to rotate clockwise! .02 |

Re: 1999 gas club car wiring help! Please!
OK, I may be way off here, but I missed where pos109 said it was an aftermarket starter. The original would have been a Mando brand from Valeo electrical systems with a Clubcar I.D. tag and has a yellowish brass color to it. In recent years, I have noticed that Clubcar has switched to a Hitachi brand from Advanced Motors and Drives, which is black and looks like the one in his pic.
I also have not seen the braided ground strap connected to what looks like A2 on the S/G in the pic. I've always seen it connected to the same stud that the dipstick is mounted on near the valve cover. Again, maybe I'm wrong, but there should be a green 6 gauge wire on the S/G from F1 to A1. I don't see that in the pic. Does any of this make sense? Last edited by clubcarjeff; 05-15-2013 at 08:27 AM.. Reason: more info |
