Hatch Lifts for Turf II flat bed?
Has anyone out there ever added hatch lifts to their cargo bed? The kind you can buy at the auto supply store to replace those on your car? I was just wondering.... it looks like it might work to assist in raising an empty bed.
I don't know if I want to go the way of a hydraulic or electric lift. Thanks, Rog |

Re: Hatch Lifts for Turf II flat bed?
I just got done installing a electric actuator to lift mine. Works really well and would suggest anyone to do it if you wanted the dumping option. If it was only to open compartment you wouldn't want the expense and angle limitation of the actuator. I have no information on the automotive struts which is your original question.

Hey GAC, I'd like to hear more about your electric lift. I have a '97 Carryall II and am considering this upgrade.

Re: Hatch Lifts for Turf II flat bed?
Here is a link to the subject here.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...-dump-bed.html I purchased a 175lb rated actuator with a 8" lift 14" - 22", fabed my own brackets, purchased the momentary rocker switch at any automotive store. Really quick and easy project. I have a total cost of about $115 in mine. There is one big change I would make if I was doing it again. I would purchase a heavier actuator, like a 500lb. I have not put in anything it would not lift "YET". With the way they mount you loose alot of lifting power at the angle required for mounting. You might also look for a little longer stroke, mine ended up just shy of 45 degrees and I would liked for it to be closer to 90 instead. Other than those minor issues I love it, never again do I have to get off the seat to dump. |
