Default Intermittent Starting Problems

I have a 2006 gas Club Car Precedent that runs great, except that at least once during nine holes it takes a few minutes for it to start. I push on the gas pedal and nothing happens - sometimes feathering the gas pedal helps. Again, this only happens once or twice during nine holes. Thank you for your help !!

You mean it doesn't crank when you first hit the gas pedal????

Sounds like either a low battery or the solenoid is getting sticky,

I have exactly the same issue with my 2006 Precedent. Some things suggested to me were:
get a more powerful battery
change the solenoid
check the starter belt for tightness
wire the microswitch on the gear selector in the on (up) position

None of these have solved the problem.
I did finally note that the cart will start if I simply hold the gas pedal down to the floor for a few seconds. Then the cart will start, but I always worry that it won't.
So, the question still remains: what is causing this problem and how can we fix it for sure?

Sounds like the brushes in the starter/generator are worn to their limit. If you have this problem and it won't start with the pedal at all, try rotating the drive clutch by hand to move the starter into a different position. If it starts, then most likely, you've found the problem.

My starter/generator is only three months old. I bought the cart used and the starter brushes were toast, so that item is already done.
I'm about to go with replacing the GCOR switches on the gas pedal, but don't know if this is the problem or not. Probably another trial and error thing.
Thanks for the response. I'll post my progress in a few days when I get time to do the work.

It does sound like there is a possibility that the microswitches on the GCOR could be intermittant. If it comes to that, take a look at how Brandon repaired his Precedent GCOR without having to spend the long dollar to purchase a new one.

Personally, I think Brandon's post should be a 'sticky' at the top of this forum since it has the potential to save folks a lot of money.

Hope this helps.

id guess a bad micro switch/connection. The next time it does this..>> put it in maintenance mode and fiddle with the micro switches while your holding the gas pedal down!. Best of luck!
