Default Extended riding questions

Just got my 1993 Club Car gas and have a question about it. I know these are designed for golf courses, drive 100' shut off, drive 100' and shut off. My question is I live in a rural area with dirt roads and plan on doing some road riding. Am I going to do any damage by driving 3-4 miles straight without stopping? I am not going wide open, just cruising along. My grandson will be coming over for a few days and will probably enjoy riding the roads. Not sure about overheating or over working, just would like an opinion from those that have owned these much longer than me. Thanks for any input....

At 3-4 miles... your fine!

I've done 20 miles one way part to full throttle, stopped for an adult beverage or two, then back again without a problem!
Now that I think of it... there were a couple short stops in between... click>>> http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/event...roe-wi-19.html (*edited* to page 19)

Just make sure you've checked the oil, and have enough fuel to get you there and back again!

3-4 miles is just warming up. If it is stock, with engine shrouds still in place, no problem. We have ridden 30-40 miles at a time without issue. Our adult beverages are a little farther away than lockman's.

It is a stock engine, but not sure about the engine shrouds?? There is like a tin foil looking mat under the engine where it mounts, but not sure about any other. I did notice after me and my grandson's ride tonight the bottom of the seat, the wooden part, was fairly warm, not super hot but nicely warm....

lockman1--quite a ride you guys do there....

That's normal. Can you post a pic of the engine so we can see if it is all set.

The foil on the engine pan is stock and the warmth on the plywood is normal!
and I have yet to see a Club Car golf car engine without a fan shroud!

(click on pics to enlarge)

With a fan shroud (partial):

And without a fan shroud:

and without an engine shroud:

I'm guessing you have everything in place, so you should be good to go bcsman!
