Re: 48 Volt TXT PDS conversion-WOW!
Just changed out a hub, bearing and races that was wobbling on me. Vmax is now 31 MPH!

Of course, it also depends on the condition of the bearings and how well the armature is balanced, and I'd try to stay below 7k. (32.7MPH on 19.5" tires) The max recommended RPM on my D&D motor is 6.5k, but I go over that occasionally. I'm installing a tachometer driven off the speed sensor and setting the shift light at 6,500 so it will flash at me when I go over that RPM. That will also tell me how fast I am going when I don't have a GPS with me. If a speedometer is installed, the opposite can be done using a table that shows RPM vs MPH instead of MPH vs RPM. |

Re: 48 Volt TXT PDS conversion-WOW!
More than 50% of the time when the motor goes out from over revving it takes the controller out with it. 30 mph is too fast for a stock motor. In my opinion you are asking for trouble.

However, 30 MPH on stock height tires (Carlisle Links = 17.4") is 7200RPM. |
