Quick update.... after a long back and forth with ebay over their awful Global Shipping Program, yesterday all the parts finally arrived......
Going to start the repairs hopefully today but when i removed the carb earlier noticed that there was no air filter fitted ..... is this normal?

There should be an air filter inside the black cylindrical plastic housing that attaches to the carburetor. Yours was empty?

Check your fuses.. I'm not sure if my fuse is stock or not, but I have a fuse in the black box below the airbox. Which I blew when i installed a new ignition. Even though i didn't think i shorted it anywhere.

Just check for power on your red wire going to the igniton, that will tell you real quick.

I checked the fuse and it seemed Ok.
Have left if for tomorrow to diagnose...
Have found this thread for a precedent cart... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...turn-over.html
Is the troubleshooting instructions given there applicable to my DS?

Thanks

Also battery was out when I changed the ignition so couldn't have shorted it.. Will double check tomorrow though!
