Default G29 question

May be a silly question because have not payed much attention to it before, but does the G29 completely shut down when the cart voltage is way too low? as in not even any solenoid response? Other brand carts will attempt to crawl and you will feel/hear the distinctive strain of it trying to move. At the moment the battery voltage of the cart is at 47v and no solenoid click when you turn the key on, or when I push accel pedal. I should know the answer lol

thanks

Well now there is more of an issue then bad batteries lol

Has 49v pack voltage after charging now. This car was converted from 12v to 8v by the way its a 2007 first year. Solenoid goes on and off when you reset tow switch. However there is no activation when you turn the key on.

I have already confirmed key switch, stop switch, throttle sensor, and solenoid are ok. I get pack voltage reading from solenoid. I also confirmed controller is ok when I changed it with a known good one. I removed plug from controller and plugged it back in, got solenoid response but still no go. I checked fuse and its OK also. So now I'm down to the motor

Anything I forgot to check?
Thanks

Lots of motor problems, I'm gonna say that's where your problem lies

I will say I did a test out of the repair book and it said check for voltage between positive and the A2/negative terminals on the controller. I was getting nothing. I know the controller is ok because I swapped it to check. It would imply something is wrong with the controller or the wires going to those two points, but what is the chances one of those two thick wires is bad? lol

i'm not sure where to go, but I will check continuity between the wires before I rip them out for no reason.

Mine completely shut down today unexpectedly and after charging all night with same symptoms. Couple hours on charger and all is good

yeah I wish it was that simple for me, but my issue is somewhere with a wire or the motor at this point

If I am reading this right. The batts were at 47V (~25%) charge and only came up to 49V (~65%) after being on the charger. Was that a settled 49V or taken shortly after the charger stopped? If taken soon after, they would probably eventually settle at 47V again. Did you check individual batt voltages? With all really bad batts and pack volts at 47-49V, you may get the solenoid to close but the cart probably won't move. See chart attached.

Since you checked everything out OK so far, have you put it on jackstands and tried to 'drive it', making the cart wheels spin. Take the load off of it and maybe there is enough batt power at 47-48V to make it run. Thus confirming the need for new batts and no other troubleshooting.

Too late to be doing this much thinking.

Nah, a Drive electric will actually run with only 3x 12v batteries installed (if you are light on the gas pedal).

yeah, I figured even if the pack was not the best, at 49v I should still get solenoid response with pedal depressed. I don't even get solenoid response when I turn the key from off to on...
