I assume your 350 needs a crankshaft and you want to install a 295 because of the cost of the 350 ?

I have done a 295 block and head, and bored it out to a 350 std. it’s a stout little motor

If the crank ain’t broke.... take it, and the new rods to a machine shop... let em mate em up... if the journals are worn, they can build em up and turn em... might cost a couple bucks but way cheaper than buying a new crank

I believe the rods are the same... the stroke is a bit different

My mistake the connecting rods are the same, the piston height is different...so the deck and head must be milled down.

Thanks and greetings,

Erik.

So has anyone actually built a 350 with a 295 crank?

It’s not possible to build a 350 block with a 295 crank. The stroke is about 1mm shorter than the 350 crank. I used to build these engines all the time for businesses. Lol learned the hard way that they for sure are different.
