Re: Robin 295cc needed
WELCOME TO THE FORUM!
The motor you have is probably rebuildable. If the crankshaft or casing is not damaged, it can be fixed. The 295 head that you have can be installed on a 350cc block. It bolts on and gives about 4 hp more than stock. I have some 350 blocks, but they need pistons and rings and valves.. The crankshafts and casing are good, the lower end didn't break. I run the new MCI 350 in my workhorse. It's a very good motor, as is the 295... |

Re: Robin 295cc needed
tonyton, thank you for the response. my present motor still starts and runs almost flawlessly with no noise, but it has no compression in one cylinder and 175 in the other. When I put a small rod in the spark plug hole on the bad cylinder there is no piston movement at all. My thought was to obtain a good used motor and then rebuild the existing when I have more time. If I went with your 350 block wouldn't I need different pistons, rods and rings? Sorry if this sounds like lack of experience, it is.
