Default had spark, pulled engine, now no spark

i just recently bought a '79 ezgo. it needed lots of TLC, ran decent but needed crank seals. so i pulled the engine out, replaced both crank seals, reed gaskets, carberator gaskets and carberator. put everything back together, hooked all the wires back up and now it has no spark. it originally had spark that would jump over a tree. i've got power going to the coil and the points side of the coil drops to .2volts when turned over by hand slowly. should that side drop to zero? what is the points supposed to be gapped at? i didn't mess with them while it was apart as i figured it was working why mess with it. thanks.

Seems like some resistance somewhere. Did you reconnect your ground wire? Also try giving the points a touch with a file. You really should have close to 0 volts at your negative post on the coil when the points are closed.

i connected the ground back to the head in the same spot that it was originally connected. atleast when i got it. everything else is wired exactly the same as when i got it. they are just twisted together for now. they will be soldered when i'm done, but i believe they have better connection now than when i bought it as they fell apart as i undid the electrical tape. i thought about touching up the points but the spark was so nice that i didn't do it. is there a chance that the flywheel is off a bit causing the points to no work proparly. i just lined up the key, stuck it on, and tightened it down.
