Refurbish plastic
Does anybody have any ideas on the best way to clean and refurbish ezgo plastic? How to take out small scratches? Any suggestions on ezgo green touchup paint?

Re: Refurbish plastic
Are you talking about plastic that is chalking? Scrape away the bulk of the loose stuff, wash it and while it is drying, go pick up a package of Bondo Restore Black. Stuff works slick! All I can suggest for touch-up paint is to have a can color matched at a supply house.

Re: Refurbish plastic
What is chalking? Would I have to paint the entire body if I use bondo? It has a few scratches that could be filled with bondo but I rather not paint the entire body. How could I match the color at a supply house without bring in plastic?

Re: Refurbish plastic
For light stuff use Armor-all or Krylon black spray paint for plastic

Re: Refurbish plastic
OK, I get what you mean now. Chalking is what happens to some plastics after prolonged UV exposure. Look at the A- pillars of mid-80's cars in junkyards to see an example. For scratched body plastic, a good quality automotive body filler will do anything you need.
For a paint match, you will need a chip of the paint to be analyzed. If you have too fill too many scratches, odds are it may be easier to reshoot the cart than to do a bunch of touch-ups. |

Re: Refurbish plastic
If it's a stock EZGO green, that isn't paint. It's a molded in color. I would start with Dupont rubbing compound for the heavy chalking. For scratches, start with something like 500 grit paper, dry. Then move to constantly higher grits until wet sanding makes it smooth. Then do the whole body with Dupont polishing compound. These are old school products but they have yet to be replaced by anything that can be called, "better".
