mid 90's 48 volt questions
I have come across a mid 90's (96-99) Par Car Utilidump and need to get a couple questions answered before I either fix or part out. This has what I was told a Briggs & Stratton Etek 48 volt motor (has just had new brush kit installed), is this a good or bad motor? The controller is junk and is this an expensive part (looks allien to me compared to any controller I have seen before) and is it still available? The cart is basicly complete and just trying to decide if it is worth fixing up or parting out. Anyone here in need of any parts??? You can contact me directly at gadgetman5978@yahoo.com Thanks for any help. gadgetman1

Re: mid 90's 48 volt questions
Gadgetman, what state are located in? The old Etek motor were okay up to a point. the problem with them was that if they really overheated, they would tend to "unsolder" themselves from the inside out and internally fall apart. The controller is still available, but if I were going to keep the vehicle, I would swap out the controller and motor and update them both.
