Climbing Hills In The Snow?

I have an 01 Carryall with an FE290, lift and 11 inch tires. What can be done to help the cart in the snow. I have not yet taken the cart out in the snow yet but we are expecting a pretty good storm tomorrow and I was hoping to help with hill climbing in the snow.

let the air outta the tires to about 8 pounds....have fun!!!!

Chains on the rear and skinny tires on the front. Fat front tires may want to push snow instead of riding over it. Let us know the results.

I'll agree with both scotty and oliver...

lower tire pressure, and chains are your best bet for hill climbing!!!
Skinnier front tires may not be an option... right this second,
so you may want to stay on a cleared path, or road!

If you don't have chains... write down the size of your wheels,
and go to a yard equipment dealer, and they may have chains to fit your tires!

last year I took my cart out (a bunch of times) and got around pretty well on cleared paths...
But I HAD 22" Duros, there is quite the hill right by my campsite,
and had to get a running start to get up to the top...

(HAD = I just put on 25" X 12" All Trails... haven't tried them in the snow... Ummm... YET!!!)

Check for clearance for the chains. I tried a set on mine and they rubbed the susp. so I had to take them back off. If i had different backspacing or some spacers they would work, so you may not have the same problem. Just thought I'd say measure for clearance before you buy.

Good point. My old 89 Carryall 1 is bone stock and the back tires have rubbed the brake cables.

If you feel like tinkering a bit I'll bet you could make a set of chains fairly easily out of some smaller chain using repair links and hooks. Bungies on the outside like normal chains. For some reason my club car DS got around fine even on light hills with near slicks all the way around. It just had to be moving a little and then it would eventually hook up and really go.
