Default G29 plastic rivets in floor mat

I wanted to clean out the area by the accelerator pedal. I think I need to remove the mat to do a good job. anyone have any hints for not breaking the rivets?

Am I on the right path?

Use 2 screwdrivers to pry the center pin up. I use nail pullers to remove them the rest of the way if they are still tight.

I removed my mat and cleaned out from under it last week, had to break about half the plastic rivets. Went to Autozone they had 3 to a pack for $2.99, I said no thanks.Bought 100 on Ebay for $4.52 free shipping.

This works great until you get a perfectionist douche that whines that his floor rivets look different then they used to.... ask me how I know. Lol

Those things are so easy to pull out, I'm not sure how anyone can break them. They work great and are easy to get out and put back.

Wait! What?!? On the older Drives (before new rivet style), half of the rivets were broken by the installers on the assembly line! Already blown out before removal by "us" (but we sure found them during the golf course brake pedal recall). Especially at the top edge of the floor mat. Yamaha sent us a huge sack of them at no charge, because they knew there was no problem.

My favorite tool for them "great neck upholstery tack remover", found at local hardware store.
