Default Yamaha G2E Advice needed Please

Hello All. First I want to say how helpful it's been to have discovered this forum. As a new cart owner, I've learned a lot of tips and tricks in the short time I've been reading thru the threads...a lot of smart people on here!

Here's my situation, if y'all have any advice I'd be glad to take it. I have a 1989/90 Yamaha G2E. I bought all new batteries, but it wouldn't start. The solenoid didn't make a 'clicking' sound, so I bought a new solenoid and it still won't start (or click). We tested out the motor with battery cables and it kicked right on and worked fine...so I know it's not a motor issue. The charging receptacle pin isn't stuck down, which I heard might be an issue. Would you be willing to point me in thee right direction on where to look next? I really want to get this thing running as I've already made some nice improvements and renovations and can't wait to complete my project! Thanks in advance fellas.

The switch is the biggest thing to cause trouble on those. Just below the plug is a small red wire, jump it to battery pack main positive. Just because the button isn't stuck, doesn't mean it's working.

When you say 'the switch' causes problems, are you referring to the stop switch? Are you referring to the red wire coming form under the gas pedal or the red wire from the charging receptacle to bypass to test? Sorry, I'm not as technically sound as some of you. I appreciate your insight.
