Re: Yamaha g22ey
I got it fixed!
Rule number one of electronic troubleshooting is to ensure your power supply is working. I measured 49.6 volts and ensured all the battery connections were very tight and that the cables were in good shape. After following all the troubleshooting steps I decided to relug every battery cable end that looked marginal. Having done so I relugged the main feed off the positive terminal of the 48 v pack, after that I thought Id double check the negative end, it was clean and tight, but I pulled it apart anyway. Found my problem! Someone had placed the negative system lead on the first battery negative post bolt and then installed a bolt on it, followed bay all the other system ground lugs followed but another nut! The top nut was tight but after hitting a speed bump the negative under the first nut worked loose. So if you have a failure after a severe jar to your cart check for broken and loose battery lugs first, if someone else has been maintaining the cart pull each and check. My sysmptoms at the end before pulling the cables were slight forward and aft movement while on jacks but not full throttle. The cart would barely move while on the ground with me driving it. Problem no high current capability, resistive pack negative connection. Hope my many hours of screwing around can help someone else avoid it, check cables first! |
