Default Make 2008 YDRE faster

Is there an easy way to speed up a 2008 Yamaha Drive? Like a speed magnet or something like that? Thanks.

You can get the dealer to put the speed code in for about $150 but you still have the crappy Moric controller. I have an 07 and got the Alltrax XCT48300. I also had the Plum Quick motor upgrade done before the Alltrax. My cart scoots at 23-24 easy and I love the programming capabilty of the Alltrax.

I’m very familiar with Alltrax- but what’s wrong with the Moric controller?

It's small & weak, 250a. And it's known to fail easily when used with high speed gears, larger tires, or for no obvious reason at all.

Ok. My cart is stock right now and it’s only used for the family around the yard. My cart (a G has the Alltrax and the D&D motor. I don’t have a Yamaha dealer nearby unfortunately.

First thing i did was hit up Scottyb and got an Alltrax xct48400 for my otherwise stock drive. It came all programmed and instantly i was up over 20mph. Definitely the best first upgrade.

If I was keeping the cart that would be a no-brainer. But since I don’t know the plan for this cart, I was wondering if I could make it more appealing cheaply.

I resell a lot of carts and I have found that upgrading controllers and internal stuff (that I like) usually doesn’t bring money back out of it.

People care about cosmetic stuff. Few people care about controllers…
