Sorry, I should have been more clear. When the engine is turned off, the tiny tach will display the total hours that the engine has run.

Now that makes sense LOL.

On another slight tangent, I have thought about using a tach from a single cylinder motorcycle, easier to read and better looking imo. has anyone gone this route ?

CPP also had an dial type of tachometer. This is a real time rpm gauge
