Question what battery do I need?

Hi I would like to replace my 1988 clubcar gassers battery with a better one because its very weak for the head lights and other stuff. I want a battery for the starter generator, headlights, radio , and other stuff but what battery would be high capacity but also not ruin the electrical system? Thanks

To be totally honest... as long as your charging system is in good working order,
an exact replacement should handle all of your accessories!
(depending if your putting in a "Monster" of a stereo, or not!)

I've got my cart lit up like a "Christmas tree", and my battery handles it VERY well!

The higher the CCA rateing the more reserve power for starting. For high power lights, radios and other power hungry things you need high charging amp alternator. Battery starts it altenater keeps it going.

You need a 70 series battery (size). Just make sure you get the correct posts configuration. Continental makes a great 70 series battery that fits perfect...

No... 650 CCA should not fry anything!
But, your 88 may or may not have different specs then what's posted below,

From my 07 manual:

Quote:
Club Car recommends a group 70, side post battery,
With a 650 cranking amp rating at 32 degrees F (500 CCA at 0 degrees F)
and a reserve capacity of at least 105 minutes... Blah, Blah, Blah...
It is important to use the proper size to ensure the battery clamp will fit properly.
As Mike said: make sure to confirm post configuation with yours first!

Hope this helps!

i agrere with both post. the battery is ther for the starter/genny. you will be fine with the radio one at times. 3 to 4 hours blaring banjo msuic or heavy hard rock. with out any worrys. as long as its a head unit and 4 speakers, no external amp. if you want or can just hook a battery charger to it on a trickle charge, it will maitain it for you. rock on clubcar man! or banjo on how eve ryou do it.
