Re: Newbie with 87 CC and questions
It is a comet clutch...my 84 CC came with one exactly like it...According to Tom at CPP, earlier CC's came with em. Worked just fine on mine.

Re: Newbie with 87 CC and questions
So I have a comet clutch ehh..is that a good thing? I know when Tom machines the driven clutches and uses his spring it will increase torque which I will need after lift and tires. Does anyone ever have the drive clutch machined and if so,what is the advantage of having the drive clutch machined?

Re: Newbie with 87 CC and questions
I sent my driven clutch to him, and he said there was nothing he could do with it due to how old it was? Then I asked about the drive and he basically told me the same thing and that there were no parts for it. I wanted to rebuild it, but I had to pony up the money and buy a newer one. I ended up getting the severe duty belt to try and help out my lower end.

Re: Newbie with 87 CC and questions
It's to the best of my belief that "Comet" is no longer in business :(
