Default 1993 ClubCar Ds Valve Questions

Hey all,

I know this isn't a proper introduction but I need to ask some questions and get some info to my mechanic asap. I bought the cart used last weekend and my mechanic is looking for info on the what the valve adjustments for intake and exhaust should be? Symptoms that need addressed first is that when coming to a stop the motor keeps reving lightly but the cart stays put, all while in forward gear. This is of course while the pedal is back up to top posistion.

I know the rev limiters and pivot arms haven't been tinkered with as this was grandma driven for past 5 years and the older coulple wouldnt have been the type to tinker with the motor.

It is considerably tame compared to my fathers 2003 that has had those small mods done.

BTW the forum seems great so far and I look forward to actively participating

Cheers

Default Re: 1993 ClubCar Ds Valve Questions

Welcome to BGW Graham.

Your valves should be 5 thou each. Under the seat is a black box containing among other things the start and kill micro switches. They are activated via a cable operated cam. Assuming that the switches are functioning correctly, the cable can be adjusted to move the cam. In your case you would need to slacken the cable 1 turn at a time to bring the engagement point of the switches to the correct positions.
Hope that helps.

Chris.
