Junk Chinese parts
Bringing my good old ‘97 EZ-Go back to life. I like to buy OEM parts for cars, but figured the Chi-Com knockoffs would be OK. First the igniter.$21 on line, installed never the first spark. So I drove to the local dealer, and $200 later a NOS Genuine igniter. The plugs fired like roman candles!
Well, the solenoid was shot as well, It was working, but a loose power terminal showed signs of over heating so while taking apart the terminal broke. Bought another Chi-Com part; a solenoid. Worked for 5 days. Energizes, just fine, so not the control circuit. However, the NEW one will click, but no volts on the terminal to the starter/generator. I will send them back, and re-learn my life lesson on knock offs. AND make that painful journey to the dealer. |

Re: Junk Chinese parts
I also learned my lesson about the solenoid! Just spend the extra money and get the OEM part -- in my case it was a Trombetta
