2018 Club Car Precedent key switch wiring for voltage reducer
***Sorry, this can be deleted***
I've recently purchased my first electric cart and am in the middle of installing a 48V to 12V reducer for a radio. The reducer I'm using has a key switch wire which is very appealing to me, but am having an issue with selecting the wiring to use. The key switch has two wires, green and blue. I was expecting to see one wire at 0V when the key is off, and positive voltage when it's on. The blue wire is 6v with the key off, and 42-44v with the key on. Green is a constant 42V either way. Am i wrong to have thought the blue would sit a 0V with the key off? Not sure how this may or may not play into it but the cart also has a light kit installed that is directly connected to the battery pack and uses a harness. Based on a lot of the great posts here i really thought i had a solid plan until i saw that blue wire at 6v lol. |
