Default G16 Problem

Hello all, new guy here with a issue on a g16a. When I mash the gas pedal it takes a few seconds for it to take off. This is happening only when it comes to a complete stop. It's like the fuel pump is having to prime the carb when it stops. I just cleanded the carb now this. Help thanks.

Mine does the same. Maybe not a few seconds, but probably almost a full second, before the motor gets up and the clutch starts to close. I call that normal!

Thanks Mike, I think I fixed it. My air box was pinching the hose that runs from the fuel filter to the top of the motor. Once I kinda moved the hose back off the box now its like yours goes in a second. Now if only I could get it to run little better at slow speed.

Low speed might be throttle linkage adjustment, or one or both clutches not sliding smoothly on their shafts. Try giving both a pump of grease from a grease gun. Each one has a zirk fitting on it.

If you just got it, read this site, you will learn tons (all old posts). Do the maintenance and you'll have a very good running car. Works every time!

There is a sticky above, that you can down load the "owners manual". There is quite abit of maint. info. in there.

Good luck, Mike
