Never did anything with the cart, as I was busy. Now with everyone home I kinda want to start work on it again. To trouble shoot I just need two batteries correct?

You can use 12v to test the motor, but for everything else you need the full 36v.
Do you have a Sam's Club near you? The Duracell batteries they sell are solid batts for a great price, and they're usually on sale this time of year.  |
