Default Onboard charger wiring

I've got a Summit ii on the way, and will be switching over my 2001(early model) ezgo TXT from 36v to 48v.

I was searching but didn't find anything. My though is to put the charger onboard under the driver's seat, and to change the charging port to hold a 3 pin 110v electric outlet, allowing an extension cord to be plugged from the wall to the cart without opening the seat.

I'm sure this has been done before, and if you've done it, pictures would be great if possible!

I believe you can configure it for onboard use via the bluetooth app.

It's easy.
First, Take apart the D-plug. You will see a wire with a brass spring looking thing. That's the positive. Hook the wires to the batteries with ring terminals.
Second, That third little (red) wire coming out the back of the charging port inside the cart will have to be hooked up to 36v, well 48v now. It is your safety switch. It kills the cart when charging so you can't accidentally drive off with the charger plugged in.
Third, I wouldn't do it. It is just my opinion, but all the shaking from driving can break the insides. Well, that is if you are using the regular Powerwise charger, or one like it. Those compact ones that look like a regular power inverter (or car stereo amp) are different. Many are even made for permanent installation, especially the marine application ones.

I'll be using a Summit, which sounds like it's made to be mounted onboard. Are those breaking or just the powerwise beasts?

I've been running a Lester Summit in my TXT48 for 3 years plus now. Bolted it to the floor under the driver seat and use a 3ft cord we sell to connect to the battery pack. This cord has big rings for battery connections on one end and smaller rings for the charger connection on the other end. Then I found an outdoor cord stash on Amazon for the charger plug.

Several manufacturers make this style weather resistant receptacle. Just have to look around. Hope this link works for you. https://www.grainger.com/category/el...&filters=attrs

I just did the 48v upgrade, and got the Summit 2 charger. I haven't installed mine onboard yet, but that will be done soon. Here is the plug I'm thinking of using.

EDIT:

Here is another one I was looking at.

I was looking at that one, but decided on another, based on this one review: "The title for this item is "NOCO Black GCP1 15 Amp 125V AC Port Plug with 16-Inch Integrated Extension Cord" and it's actually only 13 Amp not 15 Amp and 16 AWG not 14AWG"
