Default Battery drain problem

I have an older (mid 90’s) 36v ezgo. It has good batteries. If I don’t switch from “run” to “maintenance tow” mode, the batteries will drain down in a day or two. Obviously there is some major draw on the batteries if left in the run mode, even with the on switch and directional switch off. Any ideas as to problem?

A very simple test, charge batteries ful, turn R/T on, wait a couple of hours and look for heat. That energy is going somewhere and it is being lost by heat.

If you have and know how to use a multimeter, there are other tests you can do.

Do you have a 36volt to 12 volt convertor for lights, assecories?
If so make sure power to convertor is wired to only have power to it “if” key is on. Otherwise it will draw amp or so when in run mode, not tow mode. Only want convertor power turned on via Key switch.
Search, lot of threads on this topic😊
