2001 EzGo TXT PDS 1206MX Low Volt Shutoff?
Kids are out on my cart now and I have not told them anything about watching the voltmeter in the dash.
I have been looking for info but can't find an answer. 2001 EzGo TXT PDS with 1206MX controller. Had this cart for only a few months. Presume it is all stock. Is there a low voltage shutoff function in the Curtis 1206MX controller? If so, what is the value? Thanks! |

Re: 2001 EzGo TXT PDS 1206MX Low Volt Shutoff?
Not sure what the trigger point is, but the 1206MX does have low voltage protection. Instead of shutting down, it goes into a reduced performance mode, so you can limp home, if you aren't too far away from home.
However, to get the maximum lifespan from your batteries, they should never be discharged lower than 50% SoC (State of Charge), which is typically about 36.3V. Attached is a battery voltage to SoC chart. (It is based on Trojan battery data, other brands may be different) Note: The battery voltage drops rapidly as amps are drawn, but recovers slowly, so when you are out and about, let the batteries rest several minutes before using the voltage to make a SoC estimate. |
