Default Ez go wiring issues

Hi I am in need of some help I purchased a 1989 ezgo 36volt cart with wiring issues. It looks as though it use to be a resistor cart that has been converted to electronic control module. The wires are all jacked I cant figure out where they go from forward reverse switch to controller to solenoid to motor the person before me tried wire it off of old wiring diagrams then gave up added a bunch of jumpers wires trying to by pass stuff and now I am just confused I can turn wrench but electric is where I give up diagrams don’t match pictures lol if anyone can help me please I would be much appreciated I bought this for my kids to get back and forth to neighborhood pool and don’t have much to put In it hopefully I can get it going thanks!!!

Hello Gr33. You are going to have to have to post some photos of what you have. If someone has converted it and butchered a lot of wires there is no "diagram" for it.

Post a photo of the cart and lots under the seat so we can see what you have.

If your wanting it to run and setup like a 89 cart with a controller here is all you need. I have done several of these.

What about the plugged wires coming from the front of the controller? Or is my controller different

Wow, looks like someone did some conversion work already. It looks "half like" an old resistor cart, "half like "a more modern solid-state" cart. Pretty sure that's not factory setup. That only adds to the confusion.
