Extra battery for Accessories??
Hi all,
I am asking for a little help with deciding whether or not I will need an extra battery to run some accessories. I have 2 re-chargable speakers that I have run cables through the roof supports for the audio and charging. The charging cables are Mini-USB (hooks to the speaker) to USB (for charging). And these speakers fully recharge in an hour and will be used through my phone for internet radio. I am going to install a cigarette lighter and I have an adapter that I can plug both USB cables and my phone charger (if ever needed) in to keep the speakers charged. I am going to install a headlight (no taillights) kit, but it will only be used maybe one night a week during golf league or while running around at the lake. So the headlight will not be used very often until the end of the golf season and then maybe a few nights a week. I am also going to install an LED battery indicator. Does anyone think based on the above info that I will need an extra battery? Anybody else have any other potential things that they have seen/done to their own carts in the dash area that I am not thinking of? Thanks for all of your help, it is greatly appreciated! |

Does anyone else have anything that they have put on their cart that they see as a necessity now?

Re: Extra battery for Accessories??
I added an auxiliary battery to mine so I would not take any power away from the pack.
Right now I have a stereo and amp, auxiliary plug for GPS or portable heater or phone charger. I also have head and tail lights as well as some underneath LEDs. I do have a horn as well. I am thinking about adding additional lights and possibly a winch. Other than that I am not sure what else you might add. I went with the auxiliary battery because we cruise and listen to the the stereo a lot and didn't want it to pull from my pack and affect the ride time. RI |

Battery is in the bagwell. I put it in a battery box and it is barely noticeable, but you do lose that storage. Picture is attached.
Sounds like you use yours for golf so that may not be an option. I have seen others use a small wheelchair battery and mount them in the dash. Doesn't sound like your planning to pull much power so a converter may be the way to go. |

Re: Extra battery for Accessories??
That's a schnazzy cart you have there!! Mine is nowhere near that...yet. I was thinking I might just do the battery since a converter is around $150 and I can go through a couple of the little batteries for the cost of that and this way too even though I dont have much on it I know my run time wont be affected by my accessories. Would it be best to keep the accessories battery by itself and just trickle charge it every week or so or is there a way/is it better to tie it into the pack?
