Default Purchasing a rolling chassis, good idea?

Hello all, new to the scene but hoping to dive in head first!

I'm currently working a deal on a 98 electric Club Car, rolling chassis. Current owner says the motor & battery have been dead and removed since he owned it, so he is also unsure if the other electronics work or not.

If I could pick it up for $50 or less, would it be worth it? What's a good starter list of things to check or go ahead and just replace, besides the obvious batts and motor?

It's use is going to be light off road use & street, so I woukd plan in putting a small lift in it, but first would on the list would be getting it running, maybe even with a little extra power?

Appreciate any and all input!

as i mentioned on the other site i don,t think its a good idea..........you could end up having to put upwards of 1500 or better into it depending on what all else is wrong and for that kind if money you can buy a running cart..........case in point i picked up a 97 ds 48 volt with 2011 trogens a lift and bigger tires and wheels......nicely painted black with roof and WS and charger for 1400.00 dollars........but its your money and your call..........just some food for thought.......................................

This is actually a different cart, found it listed on eBay & right now I'm the winning bidder at 99 cents lol. If I could find one like you did I would buy it in a heart beat but they are more like $2k, they just don't seem to exist down here in Texas.

MIne was $550, minus batts and f&r and one tire. Ended up putting $2k into it. But I didnt do it to make money. I did it to learn about electric vehicles and run around my neighborhood.

Ok that's what I figd but wanted to make sure. I'm ok with dropping cash over a period of time to trick it out, but wanna get it rolling first

Over $6300.00 invested, learning experience and to get all the bells and whisltes that I wanted... I could have been less, but it is now a LSV (Virginia). Mine was $300.00 initial investment (running) when I bought it. Currently looking at 8 pax for $150.00 (running)... going bigger for the fun of it.
