Default Melted another batt. post!

I always check my connections, but this is the second time I've melted a post. It would have to be loose for this to happen right? It had to of arced, calbes were all cool to touch, nothing hot but the melted post? I'm running 48 volts, new batts, 700amp controller, and a d-380. My cables are 1g, heavy duty solenoid and f/r. I do not have lock washer on my connections to batts...maybe they get a little loose when they heat up?

I think expansion and contraction from temperature changes is the cause for most loose connections. Check your connections when you check your water.
