I don't believe it can be done at all. Never seen mismatched bulb/housing conversions.

mike ... the Sylvania HB1/9004 socket sits in housing and is secured with a ring .. the blub is part of the socket ... if you were to hollow out socket and place h3 blub in, there is nothing to hold it in .. when h3 blob is in offroad lights it is attached with a small screw .. but the ground is the fixture its self, if you could get h3 blub into Sylvania HB1/9004 socket and keep it secure (grollia glue ?) you would need to attach a ground wire to the h3 flange

A housing that will take the H3 bulb.... usually a fog light housing. At least that is whet mine are. The same housing that goes in fog lights. The rectangle ones.

In my golf cart icon. It uses the H3 bulbs and they are not fog lights. They are frenched into the body. I have another golf cart that uses the same bulb as Mikes_sfl. The lens in the two golf carts are different sizes. The H3 bulb could possibly be fit into the other socket base with a lot of configuring and epoxy.

Do yourself a favor and stick with 12v lighting equipment. Don't let the tail wag the dog.
