EZGO Steering wheel slipping

I have a 1995 EZGO Medalist 36v cart, I just got this a few weeks ago. I am new to the golf cart community. I have drive this for two weeks to ensure nothing is wrong. I took it to our campground this weekend and the steering started slipping.

When turning, you can actually feel the slippage of the wheel.

I am sure that there is a gear if some sort involved.

Has anyone else encountered this, and if so what did you do to remedy this?

Thanks, I will be digging into this this weekend. I do recall seeing 4 washers on each if the 3 bolts that go into the steering box. That did seem a little odd to me, but when u but used, u gotta expect issues somewhere. :)

I would take a look at item 38 on the parts breakdown shown above. Might be stripped out. You can Google your model and probable find the parts and servivce manual for free. Example 95 EZGO Parts manual. Good luck, let us know what you find out.
