250 Ohm 10W resistor and a 1A diode will work, but I prefer 3A.

Resistor goes between the big terminals.
Diode goes between the small terminal, but be careful, it is polarized.
The end with the stripe on it connects to the small terminal with the positive voltage on it. In your case, the small terminal with the Red, Yellow and White wire on it.

However, don't bother putting them on yet, Wait until the cart is running, it is easier to troubleshoot without them installed.

The green/blk wire coming out if f/r switch was cut looks like the reverse beeping speaker was connected to it. Would that have anything to do with it. That being said, could
I have connected the solenoid backwards? I did it wire by wire but what's to say the guy before me didn't get his wires crossed.

Got the switch and replaced it. Was definitely broken. Now I show 0 on pin 5 when I press the pedal I get b+

Ouch, that says the controller is bad.

However, that is a common occurrence for a DCS controller. They had some issues.

Replace it with an Alltrax DCX400, or larger, controller and you'll have a cart that will do about 20 MPH on stock height tires and have a lot of torque.

Read the text at the top of this page: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html
The upgrade kits for a DCS carts are about 2/3 the way down the webpage.

Ouch indeed. Oh well, I only paid $175 for the cart anyway so it's not too bad. Thanks again for helping

Another quick question......is it just the controller I would I have to replace the solenoid or any other parts?

Solenoid and cables also.
The stock solenoid is only rated 85A, which is marginal just for the stock controller.
The cable because they are only 6Ga, poorly designed and are at least 15 years old.
No matter what controller is installed, they (all 10 of them) need to be 4Ga or thicker and the cables lugs should be the closed end type and sealed air tight.

For a 36V system, the resistor is 250 Ohms and for a 42V or 48V system it is 470 Ohms.
The diode is the same for all battery pack voltages.

I think the motor may also be bad. I connected s1 to a2 connected posited cable to s2 and negative to a1 from 12volt battery......and got nothing. Pretty sure I connected it right.
