85 Ezgo no spark when warm

I have a 1985 Ezgo that has been giving me issues where it runs and then doesn't for a while. I recently narrowed it down to a spark issue with a inline plug tester. When I hooked it up it was getting spark and my light was working. I choked it and got it running and the ran it for 3 minutes until warm. Now it's not running and my light only shows spark when I first press the gas and let go. New battery and cables. I would appreciate any troubleshooting steps at this point to narrow it down further. Thanks.
