Re: Generator 101
I have a 3 acre grove, immature trees and ornamentals to tend, and two teenage boys (or should that be teenage trees and immature boys?). They were both "tearing it up" almost as soon as the wheels hit the ground.
Those heavy duty springs I added during this "outage" are a pleasure to ride. I had five persons aboard on Sunday afternoon without a scrape or bump that the cart could not handle. I also changed the headlight groups to new fixtures. Now both headlights and running lights are lit! Dang ain't we fancy now! |

Re: Generator 101
I have been following this thread. My 1997 (clockwise rotation I believe) had the A2 terminal to the braided ground strip. I have recently purchase a new starter generator. Should I switch the A1 and A2 terminal to have the A1 terminal go to ground? like the schematic showed at the beginning of this thread, or should I keep it the same.
I am trying to fix a delay in starting - microswitches operate and then there is a few seconds delay before the starter tuns over. Could a A1 to A2 switch help this problem? Best, Jim |

Re: Generator 101
No, switching A1, A2 will not resolve a delay in starting. Look for a bad connection someplace. Try starting it a couple times in a row, and then carefully look for a hot connection some place. It may be very very hot so be careful you don't burn your fingers.
as far as switching A1, A2, only do this if it is turning the wrong way. |

Re: Generator 101
This a good thread that I can't resist high jacking a bit.
I am working on a 350 Kaw. flathead clubcar. I am doing a rebuild or motor swap. I noticed that behind the flywheel there looks to be the trigger for spark timing and also two charging coils. Is this just for the spark? Or is it a unused charging system? Thanks |

Re: Generator 101
I have same problem with my 02 gas cart. What is the cost of the starter generator? I dont mind the trial/error if its not too expensive. Seems like this is the only thing I haven't tried.

Re: Generator 101
Easy enough to Google that cost but if I remember correctly, the rebuilt one I used was about $100.00 plus shipping.
