Re: EZGO TxT48 with Leaf Modules
Looks great! Did Tech Direct have the old tap wires available? Did you have to ask for them or were they included?

Re: EZGO TxT48 with Leaf Modules
These are the current settings I am planning on going with for the Zeva BMS. I have seen some posts related to the Max Voltage and Balance Voltage fighting with each other so I am going to go with the Dynamic Setting for Balance voltage which looks like it will balance the cells throughout the charge around the 14 cell average.
Has anyone used this Dynamic setting before? This setup should provide for a charge with two fail safes on the high side: Primary Charge Shutdown- charger output voltage will be set to 58V so this would cause the cell to balance at around 4.14V. If the cells are dynamically balancing around the 14 cell average value 58V / 14 full-time during the charge cycle. Secondary Charge Shutdown- max voltage setting for any module will be 4.15V which will cause the Gigavac to open and stop the charging. Forcing the BMS to balance the cells to whatever the max average setting would be for the 14 cells. Wondering if anyone is experienced with this setup? The BMS charge would allow one cell to hit the 4.15 causing the GigaVac to open the circuit. The hysteresis setting should stop rapid open and closing of the Gigavac while balancing of each modules occurs to achieve the average voltage setting. I guess if one cells runs a faster charge and out runs the BMS balancer current then it will cause the system to balance at a lower average. Also I not sure how long this balancing act takes (hours or days). Spec says each balancers is capable of 120mA which seems like this could take quite a while and may not be optimal for daily use. |
