For those of you that did not know, you can record your test runs in the new Icon software. It will save it to a CSV file for review later. You can see here how the speed starts to decrease the higher it gets and the current drastically drops off. I have not tested yet, storming here, but I suspect this is due to how the motor current limits drop off at higher speeds.

That would make sense based on my understanding of the parameter names.

10.01.01 - 07 creates different motor rpm ranges with the corresponding current limits in 10.01.08 - 13. In theory if you max out 10.01.08 - 13 it wouldn't limit the current based on rpm.

I don't know what your settings are for 10.01.08 - 09 but I bet it is higher than 180a. I suspect the overall limit is something like max batt out current (11.08.02).

I haven't plotted my saved data yet. I need to record a run from a dead stop to vmax. The one runs I have I coasted to about 5 mph before I floored it.

I'll try that, thanks!

I ran a couple of tests changing the battery out max and acc time settings to see if they impacted acceleration. They didn't. Below are 2 charts, one with the default of 250a/10sec and the second 300a/5 sec. The horizontal scale is a little different. The 300a/5 sec one runs a little longer.

So, if you are looking to improve acceleration, these 2 parameters don't seem to change anything.

Also the max current is about 260a regardless of what any current limit is set to. There must be a setting somewhere I'm missing.

So you tried adjusting the current limits? 10.01.08 - 10.01.13?
That is what I was going to try and adjust next.

Check what 11.08.02 is set to.(Battery Current Out Limit) Mine is set to 250 amps. That might be limiting it.

I have had good success copying the value in Gen Current Limit BS 2 into then next 3 - BS 3, BS 4, and BS 5, all in menu #10 power limit

Yeah, that is my next test at lunch today. I'm still a little surprised I can't get more than 260a initially which was why I tried changing batt out max first.

There most be some magic setting that allows for more than 350a but I can't find it. For this plot, I set all of the motor current limits (10.01.08 - 13) to 350a, the max batt out to 350a, and the acc time to 5 secs. The plot looks the same as all of my other ones. Max current is ~260a.

The search continues.

No, you have the new LVTong/ICON controller, Navitas does NOT have an option for that yet.
