2013 Yamaha 48V not working
Hi, My cart hasn't seen much use. This spring I found the batteries were dead and could not be charged. I replaced them, but now the cart will not work. I double checked to make sure they were hooked up correctly. When I turn the key and put the cart in forward, it goes a few feet and stops. Put it in reverse, and the same thing....slowly moves a few feet and stops. Any ideas on what to check would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: 2013 Yamaha 48V not working
What are your battery voltages? Things it could be - bad solenoid, bad motor, bad controller. But if it moves at all, it's usually a bad battery or a bad battery cable connection. Make sure they are all clean and secure and that your batteries are fully charged.

Re: 2013 Yamaha 48V not working
Hi, I double checked the battery connections and got a reading of 48.5 volts. I am pretty certain it is not the batteries, but I will check again.

48.5 is pretty dead. Have you ever charged these new batteries?

I installed them and plugged in the charger which charged for a short time and then flashed 'charged.' What voltage should I have?

Re: 2013 Yamaha 48V not working
As said, 48.5v is pretty low... Charge the batteries until the charger shuts off automatically. You should see 51+ v, If not, try another known good charger. Enclosed a Trojan battery SOC chart for information.

Re: 2013 Yamaha 48V not working
I thought I would post an update. I was sure the new batteries were not the issue, but you guys were right…thanks. One of the batteries was bad. I took it back and the dealer kept it over night, couldn’t get it to charge, replaced it, I reinstalled it, and the cart works great. Thanks again.
