Question 2017 Yamaha Drive 2 speed sensor

I'm new to forum. I have looked everywhere I can think of to try and find this part and cant seem to find it. I'm hoping someone could help me out. I have a 2017 Yamaha Drive2 48V cart. It started out just going slower than normal and over past month got worse. It slowed even further, then would just coast to a stop and then jerk forward and continue on. The next thing it did was come to a complete halt and if I rocked it forward or backwards with my foot on the ground and one on go pedal it would catch and go forward again only to stop a short distance. Finally it stopped all together. Batteries have all tested fine. I have 48.9 at motor when pedal is pressed down. I was told it was a speed sensor and found then for Drive 2007-2014 but nothing in my year. Not sure of motor make. Model is DR2E17. Can anyone point me in correct direction? Or at least tell me I'm on correct path.

Connect your volt meter to the battery pack and drive the cart. Preferably up a hill. See what the voltage drops down to. Then do the same thing with your meter across one battery at a time. At just over 48 volts, your pack is pretty much dead. Or you have a single battery failing under load. Give us the results of your voltage tests.
If those batteries are the original ones from new, then I suspect they have had a good life and need to retire.

Ok did battery test. I have 8.55v to 8.48v on all six batteries. Battery pack itself is 50.6v. I dont think a battery is my issue. Batteries less than 18 months old. All are 8v trojan 875 and water levels are good. Cart not moving at all now. I still here the click after I turn key but wheels no longer turning. I found out I have a Hitachi motor.

Have you checked the motor brushes? It's likely that that is your problem if it sometimes catches and goes a bit when you push the cart forward while holding down the accelerator pedal.

No I haven't. I'm new to golf cart maintenance. Is there a good YouTube video or something to look for? I'll try to google it.

You have to remove and disassemble the motor to access the brushes. There are some videos on how to test a motor in the cart (wheels off the ground). You can try that before removing the motor but often, it's bad brushes with the Hitachi motor.

You guys are awesome. My Drive2 is back up and running. I just wanted to say thanks to Volt_Ampere. It was a brush problem. A couple brushes had a spot they were catching in the ring that spring were too weak to push through. At first glance brushes looked good they weren't wore out to much but you could notice the springs weren't pushing them in even after opening motor. I cleaned motor of dust with air compressor, then replaced motor brush spring $30 and brushes $22 and she running as good as new. Thanks again and I hope this helps someone else down the road.
