Light Harness
Hello everyone!
I have a 2007 Yamaha G29 48V I'm looking for a diagram that will show what all these other legs are intended for. Thankfully I know which ones are the head and tail light because of the plug. In addition to obviously knowing what they are intended for, the previous owner cut the red to the taillights..I'd like to see if I can figure out why. 3 wires go into the plug for the light but the red is cut probably 6 inch after the plug. Unfortunately there isn't any identification of the harness. It appears to be "the deluxe" version because there are alot of additional connections. i,e blinker? Etc |

Re: Light Harness
These are all aftermarket so it's not possible to find a diagram without knowing where the harness came from. They are not that complicated though.

Re: Light Harness
Do you possibly know why a wire would be cut at the taillights? There appears to be 3 extra sets of wires in the front...?

Re: Light Harness
I don't think its aftermarket. That appears to a Yamaha harness. You have your finger on the wires for a floor mounted horn switch. I also see wires for the horn.
That third wire isn't used unless you have a premium light kit that includes brake lights and turn signals. Post a picture of your head lights and tail lights and I can tell you for sure its factory. |

Re: Light Harness
All of the yamaha carts around here from that time frame have aftermarket lights and wiring installed at the dealer. I have two of them. (2009 and 2012) Around here all carts have brake lights and turn signals.

Re: Light Harness
16607770554664424673793885189401.jpgThere is also a set of 4 LED lights, the guy had 2 ran to the top and massacred the headlights to put in the square lights (also had them wrapped in duck tape.
So it's fine to leave the red cut like that. If you're familiar do you mind telling which one is which? There is also a plug that appears to hook up to the operating harness? I still need to purchase new headlights. The LED aftermarket lights, the bright ones in the pictures, was either going to run 2 below or all 4 on top. Like Volt said, they can't be too difficult, however I'm not even sure on what exactly Yamaha runs off this harness? Horn Reverse buzzer (that's on the main harness correct? Blinkers Brake lights *pictures were on his listing when he was selling it. |

Re: Light Harness
Wow. What a hack job.
That is/was a Yamaha OEM light set. Your best bet now is get an aftermarket light kit that fits the OEM opening. Rhox makes a nice led set. I'm sure others do too. It will come with a new harness. If you buy the premium light kit, it will support Horn, Blinkers and Brake lights. Reverse buzzer (that's on the main harness correct? - Correct |

Re: Light Harness
Yea I was looking at them, they are rather proud of them, 150-200$. Unfortunately, the simple "needs a new solenoid" turned into needs a new controller, ugh live and learn :)
Do you mind telling me which one is for blinkers and which goes to the break lights? My OCD would like to label them. I've also learned soon much troubleshooting the controller, there isn't a wire on this cart that I don't know where it goes and what it's purpose is, except these small connections on the light harness lol Black and brown and yellow wires go to : Red/black and green and black/ white goes to: Connector coming off the main harness: red, white, black and black/white: Or lol is there a Yamaha OEM light set wiring diagram?? Thank you so much for your assistance!! |
