Re: 2015 Yamaha YDREX5- Electric Dead-need help
From another thread.
To test run a Sep-Ex (regen) motor Remove all cables from the motor; connect a jumper from A1 to F1 and a jumper from A2 to F2. Connect 12 to 24 volts, positive @ A1/F1 and negative @ A2/F2. Swap F1 and F2 to change rotation direction. NOTE: some Sep-Ex motors are labeled S1 & S2 in place of F1 & F2 |

Re: 2015 Yamaha YDREX5- Electric Dead-need help
Founf=d this thank you..
For testing in the cart: Remove All cables from the motor. Be careful to not twist the motor studs. Use a wrench on the lower nut to hold the stud from spinning. Check for continuity from post A1 to A2. Check for continuity from F1 to F2. Check for NO continuity from any A post to any F post. Check for NO continuity from any post to the motor case. To see if it will run. Cart wheels off the ground. Make 2 10awg jumper wires. Connect A1 to F1. Connect A2 to F2. Apply 12v Positive to the A1 post. Negative to the A2 post. The motor should spin. If it does not spin, there is an internal problem and it will need to be removed and disassembled or replaced. |

Re: 2015 Yamaha YDREX5- Electric Dead-need help
RUNNING (Kinda) So after testing the motor on the cart with the proper jumpers in place and also using ohm meter to test continuity between post I find out the motor in fact works I hooked everything back up. Then I started playing with the multi wire connector on the back of the controller. Pulled it out and plugged it back in wiggled it around and what do you know I start hearing the reverse buzzer. I also start hearing the solenoid clicking erratically I wiggle it just right and hold it there press the pedal and she starts running (up on jack stands). I got it just right and was able to cruise down the street a little. Now the question is......is that behavior indicating the controller is the problem or could it be the plug itself? Plug seems fine wires seem fine but wiggling it again makes it either work or not work. Also just sitting there not pressing pedal solenoid was still clicking on it's own. What say you all? Still a controller problem?

Re: 2015 Yamaha YDREX5- Electric Dead-need help
If wiggling the plug changes things, then I would strongly suspect the plug isn't making all good connections.
