Default 1985 36v forward reverse switch wiring and motor terminal identification

The Forward reverse switch on my 1985 Club car broke, shorted and actually caught fire. I ordered a new switch from here and downloaded the schematic (thank you). Had to replace several wires and now it does not work.
First question, every diagram I see shows the motor terminals in a straight line, mine are more side by side, motor model 1012190 (maybe this was not original motor?), the markings on the motor are gone, how do I identify which terminal each wire go to, on the motor
2nd question, how do I do the same one the F/R switch?
3rd question, am I supposed to jumper the bottom of the F/R switch? I have seen that in several posts on the internet
Thanks
