Hi All,
Looking at purchasing one of these cars, and was wondering if anyone had replaced the motor with a newer modern electric engine?
I was looking into Ebike building and stumbled across this. Cant help but think modern DIy pack with 18650 or headway cells and modern motor/controller would drastically increase the range.

Sounds like a good idea from the parts availability standpoint. the bombardier is over 20 years old and parts cost $$$.

Keep us informed on updates if you go ahead with this

I’ve gotten the nev cleaned up and ready to try batteries. The local battery store suggest his Continental U1( 12 v, 35ah)?
Also thought about the local golf cart store said he would test motor to see if worth the trouble. He suggested 12v golf cart batteries?
Thanks for your thoughts. This nev apparently was used by city meter maids in south Florida

The following should get you a copy of the service manual.

U1 battery is the accessory battery
I suggest sealed batteries for this unit. there are comments further back on this site about battery's

if you have a problem with the above download use the one on page 93

Wheelod, can you provide the bms that you used and the charger? Also how is your range with that amazing setup?

Anyone need parts? I'm picking up one of these nevs this weekend and wanting to make a decision about scrapping it vs restoring it. If there is interest in the motor, controller, charger or some do-dads I might just piece it out.

I have a 97 model that was a non-runner, multiple parts missing, that I converted to gas.
Fun project but realized later that the speed sensor is not in the diff.
Tried to contact Peacock but they only look up by part number, which I don't have...

If any of you have the part number for the speed sensor, would you mind sharing? Or if there is one someone found that is compatible, that'd be even better....
